Good Luck!!
Love to write? Just because school is almost over, doesn't mean you need to stop now. Below are some contests you can enter and websites to submit work for publication. If you would like me to review, revise, edit your paper, send it to me at my school email, [email protected], and I will take a look and give you some feedback.
Good Luck!!

Lately grammar quizzes have been very low. We spend quite a bit of time in class working on new concepts and then it's up to students to study at home before quizzes. I give students quite a bit of notice before a quiz and it is written on the board as well as posted in the homework section of this website. I have been very surprised with the amount of, "What, the quiz is today?" kind of comments I receive on the day of quizzes! I certainly allow retakes for any quiz or test, however these are time consuming and often can be confusing when we move on to new concepts.
Please encourage your child to study for quizzes before they take them and check this website regularly for homework assignments and notices about upcoming quizzes. Thank you for your continued support. ~Mrs. Cote The Maine Sportsman magazine is holding their first youth writing contest. There are some cash prizes available. Deadline is May 15, 2019. I am available to any student that would like to give this contest a try and would like some help with drafting, revising, and editing.
For full details, click on the following link: Every friday until February vacationStudent Council is collecting non-perishable food items as well as hygiene items for our local food pantry. It is our goal to collect enough items to represent each student and school employee of Center Drive School. To make it a little more fun, students can donate to get a chance to play a Minute-To-Win-It Game or participate in one of our fun days. Here's how it works: 1 item or 50 cents = 1 entry to Minute-To-Win-It. You can donate as much as you would like. You are not obligated to play if you donate. 1 item or 50 cents = Participation in Crazy Hair Day and Pajama Day. Thank you in advance!! Happy Snow Day!
I have been receiving a lot of emails about the noredink assignment. It for some reason graded the assignments without me looking at them first so whatever grade was there was not your actual grade. Also, I had told a few students that they would have a chance to work on them today, but it turned in to a snow day so obviously there was no chance to come in to get a book if needed. I have extended the due date to Friday morning and we will go over some things tomorrow when we are back. I hope this clears up any confusion. Enjoy the rest of your day! ~Mrs. Cote January Book orders are due January 18th. Have your child bring home a paper brochure or order online at scholastic.com/bookclubs and use Class Code TXPT4 at checkout.
