We all made it through the first three days of school! What a great group of young adults I have this year. I have been so impressed with the communication, the meeting of expectations, and the humor that has already happened in my classroom. We worked on a great activity that allowed students to share what they need from me to be successful in ELA and I will definitely take it all to heart as I plan out lessons and activities. Students are eager for their individual reading books and laptops which will all be happening next week!
Something I expressed greatly in class was the need for communication. My students know that the only way I know something needs fixing or further discussion is if they communicate that with me. Life is full of enough stress and I want writing and reading to not add to the stress but hopefully become an outlet from it. If there is anything I can do to help, I will do my best! My students are encouraged to email me and to come see me as soon as they are questioning homework, a grade they received, or even something I may have said so that I can work with them to resolve any issues. I extend this same communication to my families as well. Our students will be more successful when we're all working as a team. Email me or call me any time you would like to speak with me. I'm more than happy to meet with you to work out what will be the best solution to ensure your child's success in my class.
Enjoy your long weekend and here's to another great week ahead!
