- Read each paragraph.
- Highlight or Underline signal words/phrases.
- Label EACH paragraph with the text structure you believe it is.
- Get a blank piece of paper.
- Choose 2 paragraphs (each one has to be a different text structure).
- Create a graphic organizer for first paragraph one side. Create a different graphic organizer on the other side for your second paragraph. (Ex. Create a Venn Diagram on one side if you chose a compare/contrast paragraph and a Sequence graphic organizer on the other side if you chose a time sequence paragraph.)
- Fill in graphic organizers with info from the paragraph.
